Chicken Prevent Cancer - Another Crop of Crap?

How can we prevent cancer? Eating a lot of chicken may lower your risk of colon cancer.

This was the 'good news' from the researchers on nutrition. It was reported in American Journal of Gastroenterology, December 2005.

You know they had to end the year (2005) with a peck at the healthy diet "movement" that is sweeping America fast.

What is the message I'm hearing? Listen. Can you hear? They are saying, "We want you to eat more chicken."

"Why?" I am inclined to ask.

"We want to allay your fears of eating meat so we can make more money. After all, you shouldn't think we can afford to sit back and allow all these diabetics, heart patients, and high blood pressure patients to change their diet to wholesome plant-based foods."

Prevent cancer of the food industry

I imagine those who funded this research must be saying, "We can't afford to lose control of the food market."

"Many people are realizing that being a vegetarian is not just fashionable these days, it is a popular and healthy choice. We've got to do something. We have to put our money where people's mouths are."

Can you just imagine them conspiring on their hammock of economic greed?

Consumers know more about diet and health

Imagine the mercenaries continuing...

"Today's consumers are more knowledgeable about their health. However, they believe in scientific research. And our friends at Dartmouth Medical School know how to do good market-reviving research."

"So now we can say to the world, on the basis of scientific findings, you need to eat more chicken. It may lower your risk of colon cancer."

But let me interject here... Come back from your imagination, and consider this.


How much more can you lower the colon cancer risk in a population on a diet like the anti-diabetes diet?

How do the healthiest peoples of the world prevent cancer? We're talking about people like those reported in National Geographic Magazine, November 2005 edition?

Mostly, they don't eat chicken, their diets are mostly plant-based. They practice the important health principles, and have the lowest risk of any form of cancer or other lifestyle related health conditions.

What will they think of next?

Prevent cancer with chicken! What kind of crap is that coming out of the chicken crop again?

Ladies and gentlemen, you are witnessing commercial advertising piggybacking on science. It always does, but it gets more blatant here because meat marketers realize they are losing their market.

The mad cow disease made a hit, the escalating rate of preventable type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, and strokes all serve to sensitize people to the need for healthier eating.

And the fast food 'big birds' have to keep their beaks shut because their menu's continue to be unhealthy. All these factors must be nipping at the meat market.

So this marketing stunt is an effort to keep you and I in their crumbling coop. I hope you don't lose your health because of their crap.
