Is There a Natural Cure For Diabetes?

A naturopathic doctor says there is definitely a natural cure for diabetes. Popular medical practice says no. Why would one doctor look at me and say, "you can be cured," while the other says, "no you cannot be cured?"

In his book, "A Promise Made, a Promise Kept: One Son's Quest For the Cause and Cure of Diabetes," Dr. James Chappell explains that the use of the word "cure" in relation to natural treatments is banned by the USDA. It is only approved for describing drugs that have been approved by the USDA. But Chappell writes:

"Well, excuse me, but I forgot to step in line. My mother died waiting for their cure, so I had to discover it myself." - p. 283.

In fact, Dr. Chappell is only one of many natural healers who claim to know a natural cure for diabetes. One product that was marketed under the name "Diabeticine," has similar ingredients to Chappell's formula, but the company has been banned from marketing the product under that name, which the USDA says is suggestive of "a cure."

The ADA says...

"There is no cure for diabetes. But there are things you can do to treat it yourself."

The same ingredients occur in the natural product combinations, with only a few differences. Each of these product combinations or potential natural cure for diabetes has gymnema sylvestre, chromium picolinate, and other constants.

A re-branded formulation of the product now carries the name Insulate Plus.

The ADA sees no natural cure

In the book, "Diabetes A to Z", published by the ADA, the diabetic condition, symptoms, complications, and patient care are described, but it gives no hope of a cure.

The book (Diabetes A to Z) suggests that you can eat healthier foods and do more exercise to lose weight. Naturopaths go further, by saying there are natural herbal nutrition supplements that will help reverse the diabetes syndrome.

I won't tell you what I believe, except to say that my doctor recommended that I stop taking diabetes medication. I have been monitoring blood glucose levels with two different meters and they both agree with my doctor.

Perhaps the difference between the two opinions lies in economics. However, if you are searching for a natural cure for diabetes, don't stop at pharmaceutical drug companies. Look beyond their booth. Why? My experience is this: it surely feels good when you have your life back.
