The Anti-diabetes Diet - Why You May Not Know About It
The anti-diabetes diet may be as old as the creation, but it is tried and true as sunlight - it does come through! A few years ago one doctor told me this: "We may have to put you on insulin." For 3+ years now, I have maintained a diabetes-free profile without medication. I've discovered that it costs less to stay healthy than the effort to change a few habits. I feel really blessed - but a bit strange at the same time - to see so many people keep struggling to control their blood sugars, body weight, and cholesterol while my efforts pay off so big.
Hear welcome message by Bentley Thompson:
My "come back" experience includes the anti-diabetes diet, a few food supplements, regular exercise,
and rest, a.k.a. sleep. It's equivalent to a lifestyle makeover that resulted in my A1c snowboarding
down to an enviable 5.3% 5.2% (as of April 21, 2009) in just a few months!
So why hasn't the anti-diabetes diet shown up on your TV screen? Because it is just an age-old forgotten secret that is not easily packaged and sold. If every type 2 diabetic were to do what I've done... Well, let's leave that to the imagination of the drug makers. However, allow me to share my experience with you in these pages.
Type 2 Diabetes - What you need to know to take back your health
Discovering that I developed type 2 diabetes was one big surprize for me. Learning that this condition was reversible with the right lifestyle adjustment of diet, exercise, rest, and a few supplements was a more pleasantly surprizing experience.
Already there is enough information about type 2 diabetes to fill the Amazon, but many diabetics get lost in the jungle and the noise. Here is an opportunity to really listen to a diabetic who has left the forest and has been living with normal glucose levels for over 3 years. Maybe there is something else about type 2 diabetes that we can do to treat ourselves.

A few natural diabetes supplements are like the fourth leg of your chair

Milagro de la selva tea has been part of my anti-diabetes diet. After drinking this tea for 10 days, all my glucose readings were significantly lower, and my A1c has been normal for more than 3 years. I recommend this addition to your diet.
After trying traditional diabetes treatment (metformin, prandin, glimepiride) and the regular diabetes diet without without getting better, I had to give the alternative a try.
My anti-diabetes diet and lifestyle has paid off. Today, even my doctor is convinced of the power of the "alternative". My favorite diabetes supplements include a herbal nutrition supplement, a seaweed supplement, and a high antioxidant superfood. You are invited to examine the evidence for the "alternative" and see for yourself, that when you give your body what it needs with the right conditions, the results are amazing... Discover the effect of common foods and their effect on carbohydrate metabolism. It's not only the fiber. Recipes of green beans provide fiber and an "insulin-like" effect that diabetics benefit from.
The diet is one of the key components in fighting diabetes. It is amazing how effective I have found this to me. Paying attention to what you eat is no more important than when you eat. Contrary to popular practices, I found that snacking was one of my worst habits. With the combination of the right foods, I eliminated snacks from my dietician's meal plan and have been on 3 meals (only) per day ever since.

Anti-diabetes Lifestyle
Living with diabetes is challenging and debilitating. The anti-diabetes lifestyle help us beat common pro-diabetic habits. Just stop and think about this:
(a) We now know more about diabetes today than ever before.
(b) There are many more medicines developed to treat the disease.
(c) There is more knowledge of foods and their effects on diabetes and related diseases.
Yet more and more people develop diabetes every year, *and* more children are getting this "adult onset" disease!
Consider the possibility that something is wrong with the lifestyle, and examine the anti-diabetes lifestyle... Maybe there is something we should be doing that we have "smartly" been neglecting. [more]

Did You Know That?
Sleep deprivation affects glucose metabolism, and that prolonged lack of proper sleep can cause development of diabetes symptoms. An article published in 2008 in Biological Research For Nursing said, "sleep affects diabetes and diabetes affects sleep."
The articles you will find on this site will give you useful information on how diet, rest (including sleep patterns), exercise, other factors affect type 2 diabetes and related diseases, such as high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Be warned though that, in some cases, putting these healthy bits of information into practice could cause you to lose your medication. It happened to me; and I like it!
